Carianne Staudt is a member of the Firm’s Business Organization and Tax practice group and is also a member of the Firm’s Estate Planning practice group. She is experienced in federal and state tax law which allows her to counsel clients with respect to mergers and acquisitions, equity sales or asset sales, start-up company formations, stockholder and employment matters, corporate reorganizations and liquidations and other legal matters faced by closely held businesses. Carianne prepares federal, state and local tax returns and represents clients in controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and other taxing authorities, including audits, administrative proceedings and judicial proceedings.
Carianne also advises on a full spectrum of estate planning for high net worth individuals. In the estate planning area, Carianne works with clients to develop wills, powers of attorney and a variety of trusts that are tailored to the specific needs of her clients and their families. Her estate planning work includes business succession planning, charitable planning and implementation, gift, estate and generation-skipping transfer tax issues and family asset maintenance and administration.
Carianne received her undergraduate degrees in Philosophy and English from Purdue University with a minor in History. She graduated magna cum laude with University Honors, while competing in Division I athletics as a member of the Purdue University Women’s Soccer Team.
Carianne received her law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law and graduated cum laude.
Carianne is admitted to practice before all Ohio courts and is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association.
In her spare time, Carianne enjoys being outdoors, fishing and hiking. She has a passion for athletics and watching Big Ten Conference sports. Carianne and her family reside in North Royalton, Ohio.
