Barb Sikon is head of the Firm’s Estate Planning practice group. Barb’s practice focuses on estate planning for high-net-worth individuals through advanced estate planning techniques, as well as the preparation of business valuations for gift and estate tax purposes and accounting for estates and trusts. Barb is also a member of the Firm’s Tax & Business Organizations practice group where she is involved in tax research and compliance.
Barb received her undergraduate degree in Music Education from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She received her law degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and graduated magna cum laude in the top five percent of her class. Upon graduation, Barb received Tax Concentration Certification and was honored with the Ben Lewitt Memorial Award for the Outstanding Student in Estate Planning and the Suggs L. Garber Award for the Highest Academic Grade Average in Courses in Business Organization and Taxation. During law school, Barb served as Articles Editor for theCleveland State Law Review.
Barb is admitted to practice before all Ohio courts; she is a member of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, the Estate Planning Council of Cleveland and is an enrolled agent before the IRS. Barb is a presenter for the National Business Institute and Lorman Education Services on various topics involving estate planning and probate.
Barb enjoys music and is a supporter of the Cleveland Orchestra. She and her husband Alan reside in Maple Heights, Ohio.
